Mongolian ethnic group
In the 13th century, Genghis Khan led his Mongol tribe unified all the tribes in
Mongolia area, and established the Yuan Dynasty. Mongol nationality has a long history and many
legendary stories. In the past thousands of years, Mongol people lived a nomadic
life "migrating towards water and grass" In most grassland areas of China, there
have been foot tracks of Mongol herdsmen. They are honored as "favored sons of
the grassland"
Mongol people have their own language and literature. Mongolia language
belongs to Altai language family.
Mongol people mainly live on livestock husbandry.
