Jinsha: a Glimpse of the Splendid Civilization of Ancient Sichuan
Jinsha Site is constituted of many different functional
areas, including sacrifice area, palace area, graveyard and residential area. Viewing the scale, function separation of the site as
well as the amount and quality of cultural relics unearthed, Jinsha
is another regional political and cultural center of the civilization of ancient Shu.
Some experts even think that Jinsha Site was probably the capital site of ancient
Shu Kingdom at one time. As one of the most important archaeological discoveries
in China at the beginning of 21st century, Jinsha Site has filled up many
historical blanks in China's archeology field. The discovery of this site has proved that
the former viewpoint of 'The region of Shu was savage and wild in Shang
and Zhou Dynasties' is wrong. At that time, there were not only civilization
in the region of Shu, but also it was very brilliant.
