Six Traditional Chinese Art and Crafts on Guanzhong Plain

This actually originates from the ancient totem worship. When the spring approached, people would gather and wear facial makeup to keep out the evil spirits and pray for a good harvest in the coming year.

Facial makeup on the ladle is a combination of opera facial makeup and folk life. It embodies people's wish for a bright future.

In Liuying Village, the empty gourd takes the place of the ladle to cut the cost and also save the time of polishing the wood.

  Cloth art

Cloth art in Fengxing (a place in Guanzhong) can be traced back to as long ago as the Zhou Dynasty (11th century-256BC). It can be both used and treated as the symbol of some kind of value. In China, when babies are one month or one year old, their grandmother will make different kinds of cloth art to wish them safety and good health.

The Six Traditional Chinese Art and Crafts in Guanzhong is the embodiment of traditional Chinese culture. In them, we see the people's wishes for themselves and their families. However, under the strong influence of modern culture, many are becoming endangered.
