Tang Beauty Once More

Tracing back to one millennium ago, the collar of a Tang figurine is measured at 0.26 m in depth and 0.24 m in width. Stunning, isn't it?

Renee Zellweger, a presenter and 2004 Oscar winner, shone in a red satin bustier gown with a straight neckline lace. It's figure-hugging.

Another beauteous Tang figurine excavated stands out in a d¨¦colletage. What striking similarity!

 Facial Makeup

As the Tang Dynasty marked a period of the strongest colors in the Chinese history, it was in particular manifested on the faces of ladies in those days. According to historical documents, Tang women applied facial makeup in seven steps: powdering the face, tracing the eyebrows, pasting on floral designs, dotting the cheeks, rouging the cheeks, adorning the temples, and rouging the lips.

The pasting of floral designs is particularly interesting. The fashion for floral designs pasted between the eyebrows originated in the Southern Dynasties Period (420-589) of the fifth century.
