Tang Tri-colored Glazed Potteries
During the kiln baking, the basic glazes melted and flew freely over the pottery
base, and transformed into flowery patterns that couldn't possibly be achieved
by human control. With different minerals added into the glaze, the pottery
could have a rainbow of colors other than the basic three colors, such as
purple, sky blue, and brownish red.
In many tombs of the Tang Dynasty, people have found a variety of tri-colored
glazed figurines, the most popular of which were horses and ladies.

Tang Beauties
Women enjoyed unparalleled freedom during this period. Judging from the
female pottery, most of the Tang women wore sexy wide-collared skirts or just
thin layers of silk robes, without underwear, making their chests half-naked.
Plumpness was not in fashion in Tang until the ascendance of Yang Yuhuan who,
though a little bit fat by today's standards, captivated the emperor and became
a sexy idol of the time. Following her style, lavishness became the rule of
fashion.
