Mystery and Dignity, Chinese Traditional Metal Art
Metal art has enjoyed extraordinary development in the past two decades in China
and it is now applied to various functions, from accessories to building
decorations, from city sculptures to furniture. Meanwhile, affected by different
schools of art, China's contemporary metal art features a mixture of tradition
and modernity. Even so, people are still in a persistent pursuit of their
ancestors' footprint and carry forward the best of traditions. In the
hurly-burly of metropolis, we often feel that modern artworks seem to gain more
conceit and less dignity compared with traditional ones. Perhaps the future
history needs no artistic interpretation; only a tiny electric chip can tell
everything.
