Daguanlou - China's Oldest Cinema
Daguanlou has always been the testing ground for new cinematic technology. In
the 1960s Daguanlou made another first, buying the necessary equipment to bring
3-D movies to Chinese audiences. A Magician's Adventure was shown more than
8,700 times over its 48-month run, attracting more than four million people.

The Renovated
Daguanlou |
Today, in Daguanlou Cinema people can see both domestic and foreign
blockbusters, such as Zhang
Yimou's House of Flying Daggers or Peter Jackson's King Kong. It might seem
like every movie theater is the same, but watching a movie at Daguanlou is like
eating Peking duck at the famous Quanjude Restaurant, the history of the place
enhances the experience.
