Looking For the Capital of the Western Zhou Dynasty

Musical Instruments in the Cellar in Zhuangbaicun Village

Problems with this claim

The series of important archeological findings in Zhouyuan have shown us its prosperity in the Western Zhou and seem to prove that Zhouyuan is the location of the ancient dynasty's capital.

But there are still some problems with this claim. One of them is that it does not have many cultural relics of the period before the Zhou Kingdom overthrew the Shang Dynasty. The other problem is that we have not found any tombs of the Zhou kings in Zhouyuan. Yet another problem is that 92.18 percent of the bronze wares unearthed in Zhouyuan did not belong to the families with the surname of Ji, which was the imperial surname of the Zhou Dynasty.

Is the Zhougong Temple ruin the Western Zhou capital?

"Maybe the capital of the Western Zhou Dynasty is not in Zhouyuan!" said Professor Xu Tianjin of Beijing University's Archeological School. Professor Xu began to look for archeological evidences that were different from the traditional opinion.
