Tibetan Drum: A Heavenly Language in the Modern Time

Buddhist Masses in Lapuleng Monastery: Communicating with the Gods

Every year there are usually seven Buddhist Masses held in the Lapuleng Monastery, located in the southern part of Northwest China's Gansu Province.

The most frequently used and most significant musical instrument in these Masses is the Lama drum, which is believed to be inscrutably mysterious and divine. According to monasteries in Anduo, a Tibetan word for a region inhabited by Buddhist followers, the Lama drum in the Lapuleng Monastery can speak a language understandable to the gods.
