Director Huang Jianzhong
Huang Jianzhong, a native of Quanzhou
in East China's Fujian
Province, was born in Indonesia in 1941. Huang is currently a first-grade
director in Beijing
Film Studio. Besides a great number of various awards both in China and abroad,
he has also published film critical articles of more than 400 thousand
characters.
Huang is a self-taught talent in directing. His brilliance first emerged in
Floweret, which he co-directed with Zhang Zheng. As You Wish
was the first film Huang directed independently, and was accoladed for its
humanism as well as the elegance and benignity of human being.
Good Woman is Huang's representative work. The movie concerns the
free development of human nature in a very profound way. The content and form
are very well integrated, and thus resulting to a cluster of awards.
The basic features of Huang's creation are embodied in these two works. In
the 1990s, Huang also directed some other films like Spring
Festival with a deviated artistic style, demonstrating his capability
in adapting to different themes.
