Xianshui Song

Natives of Zhongshan County, Guangdong Province, sing the traditoinal Xianshui Song on their boats.

With a long history of being popular in Zhongshan County, Guangdong Province, the Xianshui Song has been sung in the Cantonese dialect by local people since the end of the Ming Dynasty to express their love of life and extol friendship.

Yet, in recent decades, the tradition of singing the Xianshui Song has almost gone extinct. So, by including the performance of Xianshui Song, "The Lotus of Three Rivers" show in effect contributes to the conservation of Chinese intangible cultural heritage.
