Peking Opera "Empress Wu Zetian"

The new edition of "Wu Zetian", directed by the Beijing Peking Opera Theatre during the spring festival, was performed on February 19th. Wu Zetian, the only female emperor in Chinese history, lived during the most affluent period of the Tang Dynasty.The opera uses gorgeous scenes from the Tang Dynasty and more than 50 actors and actresses, including 8 courtiers, 12 royal warriors, 8 eunuchs, 16 female officers and 4 maids of honor, are all the main roles of every opera group.
