Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring
Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring Sing-Dance Evening, rehearsed by China
National Chinese Opera and Dance Drama Company, will be performed during
February 21st to 24th at Beijing Exhibition Theater.

The order of this evening is quite creative--the director uses reversed
order. Summer, as the season of hot and flourish, is chose to be the first
scene. On the opposite, spring, though a symbol of starting the new year,
is put to be the last one.
The beginning of this evening will be very impressive. A fantastic sound
effect created by man-made electronic sound mixed with natural voice will
gradually take audiences to the first scene of the performance. Then, two
bundles of cool fire will shoot down to the stage from the roof when the
magnificent lighting effect fading away. And the splendid performances will
begin: summer the red; autumn the gold; winter the silver and spring the green.
Yu Jian, the chief director and stage manager of Summer, Autumn, Winter and
Spring Sing-Dance Evening has given his idea to this performance. "Zhao Hua Xi
Shi" or "Morning Flowers picked up in the Evening" is a new brand of Chinese
folk custom sing-dance evening which consider more about the appreciation of
both Chinese and western people. As the vanguard of "Zhao Hua Xi Shi",
large-scale dances in Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring has distinctive content
for each scene based on different period of time and different type of folk art.
Various of sing and dance performances, including Chinese folk instrument band,
western string band, natural songs and modern dances, could reflect the
outstanding ability of China National Chinese Opera and Dance Drama Company on
rehearsing the large-scale dance.
The sponsors of Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring Sing-Dance Evening have
learned the facture mode of the large-scale evening from other successful big
events. Besides, in order to create a gorgeous and multidimensional scene on the
stage, they have paid much attention on the selection of programs, the design of
the stage and the lighting effect. |
