Founded in 1998, the Liangshan Martial Arts School is located in a scenic area surrounded by mountains and rivers, easy to reach by road, in the southern ranges of Mt. Liangshan, Shandong Province. The school occupies an area of 13,000 square meters with more than 100 students. The principal of the school, Shi Yanhai, is a 34th generation disciple of the Shaolin Temple who has resumed secular life and whose secular name is Liu Dahai. The educational setup of the school is of a nine-grade system, combining martial arts training and regular primary and secondary school courses. Strict discipline and fully tapping the students' potential are the special focuses of the school's management and training methods. Over the years the school has turned out many graduates with outstanding achievements in martial arts.

The trainers and students of the school have performed in a number of TV dramas and major martial arts stage shows, and joined martial arts groups on performing tours of Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Australia.
