Programme of Yunnan Acrobatic Troupe

1. Opening Ceremony (Jubilation)

The Yunnan Acrobatics Troupe expresses its greetings to the African audience in the form of a traditional Chinese festive work, the "Lion Dance," which was awarded the Baiyi Silver Medal at the expo.

2. Jumping Through Hoops - "The Feelings of Fire" (Yi fellows celebrate the harvest)

A group of young men of the Yi ethnic minority jump through a line of steel hoops one by one, where the highest hoop is 2.2 meters high. It is a perfect combination of the highest acrobatic skills and genuine movements. This programme won the 3rd Yunnan Literary and Art Creativity Award.

3. Aerial Silk - "Notes in the Sky" (Running water in the stream)

With graceful postures and "flying" movements, the performer elegantly slides along a long velvet silk strip, creating a vivid experience of a succession of harmonic musical notes.

4. Hula-Hoop - "The Green Years"

Young girls delicately swing to and fro alternating a number of Hula-hoops in diverse directions by swaying different parts of their bodies to vividly represent the vitality of youth and the glitter of life.

5. Hand-in-Hand - "Strength"

The communication between hearts and collision of two forces tell an ancient and remote story that exhibits the beauty of manliness and the vigor of the human body.

6. Straw Hat - "Rotating Flower Hats"

Young girls whirl their flower and straw hats while dancing and presenting all kinds of feats. The scene expresses a life full of happiness and beauty.

7. "Kid Show" and "Carrying on the Head"

Nimble hands, quick reaction, deft movements and a carefree atmosphere are the main features of this programme. The performers' superb skills and astounding capability of maintaining balance present a vivid picture of aesthetic sensibility.
