Poly Theater
Located in the Beijing
Poly Plaza, the Poly Theater began holding international artistic events in
1991. Since then, more than 3,000 musical, dance and drama numbers have been
performed by 300 local and international artistic groups at the Poly Theater. It
is a major venue for many important arts activities, such as the annual Beijing Music
Festival. With years of success, the theater has grown into more than just a
venue for performances: Today it is an influential cultural hub. All Poly
Theater performances are strictly selected to bring audiences the highest
possible quality to cater to their refined tastes.
To promote development and enhance cultural exchanges, the theater launched
renovations in December 1999, which were completed in October 2000. The theater
now consists of 1,428 seats, eight balcony boxes and two VIP boxes. Both the
audio and lighting systems have adopted the world's top facilities, enabling the
theater to meet the various needs of different artistic companies. The stage
house machinery system is now computer operated and the main stage is
electrically operated, consisting of six pieces of double-leveled,
three-dimensional and moveable stages. The rear stage, for example, consists of
a revolving rostrum. The setting at Poly Theater are unique, with manually and
electrically operated pipes. In addition, the audio effects within the theater
are first-class, and perfect for operas, symphonic concerts, ballets, musicals
and other performances.
Based on its healthy financial situation, technical condition and
professional management, the Poly Theater is famed for its first-class service
