Qingdao Municipal Modern Drama Troupe

The Qingdao Municipal Modern Drama Theater was founded in May 1956. Over the past four decades since its founding, the theater has staged more than 170 dramas with over 7 thousand shows and 5 millions audience. These well-received dramas include The Daring, Red Cliff, one-act The Counter, Men's World at the Seaside, Worker's Family, children's musical play Chen Xiaohu, middle school campus drama I Love My Class. Some of them won national awards such as the Wenhua awards.

The theater boasts a great number of famous artists, including Dai Lu, a first grade playwright and winner of Wenhua Playwriting Awards, Golden Lion Playwriting Award; Yang Yuqing, first rate director and two-time Wenhua awards winner and winner of the Golden Lion Directing Award; Wang Yu, an actor and winner of the Plum Blossom Award, Wenhua Performing Award, and Golden Lion Performing Award; Shao Honglai, an actor and two-time Golden Rooster and One Hundred Flower awards nominee, player of Li Zongren and Chen Duxiu; Wang Huichun, actor and the nominee of Feitian Leading Actor Award, as well as Chen Minggao, Zhou Weiming, Zhao Xiuyun, and Liu Hongkun and others.
