Zhejiang Modern Drama Troupe

The Zhejiang Modern Drama Troupe was founded in December 1949. In 1950-60s, the Troupe successfully staged famous work such as Thunderstorm, Sunrise, The Long March, Red Storm, Red Cliff. In 1980s, the Troupe staged Chen Baichen's Song of Great Storm and Fly, Pigeons, Solitary Traveler, Illusions, Solar Eclipse. The Troupe's TV series Lu Xun won special Feitian TV award and Golden Eagle Award. To foster more talents, the Troupe set up the Zhejiang Children's Art and Drama Troupe. The drama troupe's well-received dramas include the sci-fi fairy tale drama To Fly Tomorrow, fairy tale drama Adventures in the Aozhi Kingdom, winner of Wenhua New Play Special Award, children's modern drama Hand in hand, We Are Friends, and fairy tale musical Snow White. The Troupe twice visited Singapore. It also went to Taiwan as the first ever visiting children's art troupe from the mainland and caused a sensation.
