China Acrobatic Troupe

The China Acrobatic Troupe was founded in October 1950. The acrobatic troupe has accumulated hundreds of excellent programs, which have distinctive Chinese characteristics and reflect the real life in contemporary in China. Among them, Cycling Skills, Double Diabolo Playing, Flower Terrace, Rolling the Cups, Going through the Tube, Balancing on the Tube, Soft Steel Wire are gold award winners in international acrobatic competitions. Pagoda of Bowls Among Four People, Playing Diabolo, Pole Climbing, Two Persons Balancing on the Board, Going Through the Loops on the Ground, Balancing on the Board and Playing with Bowls won 6 gold medals in acrobatic contests respectively in Hungary, Monaco, Russia and Poland. In national acrobatic competitions, Collective Cycling Skills, Butterfly Loves, Pagoda of Bowls, The Taming of a Camel scooped 4 gold medals white other programs such as Terracotta Warriors-Stacks, Magic Colorful Fans, Juggling Umbrellas with the Feet won 7 silver medals.

Since 1994, the acrobatic troupe has created 7 acrobatic evening gala performance including Tianqiao Scenes in Old Beijing, Ancient Chinese Myths, Floral Rainbow, Chinese Charm, Large-scale Chinese Circus Show, Magic Oriental Art and Chinese Soul. The Chinese Soul won 7 awards in the Beijing New Drama and Program Competitions from 1996-99. The acrobatic troupe has toured many countries and regions and greeted with warm applause.

The troupe has cultivated generations of famous acrobatic artists such as Yang Xiaoting, Pi Defu, Guan Yuhe, Cheng Liaobao, Qin Bin, Jin Yeqin, He Shuwang, Zhang Guosheng, Zi Jifa, Jin Zhen, Yin Yuhong, Chen Linben, Cheng Shaolin, Wang Guiying, Song Huiling, Sun Lili, Wang Jiamin, Qi Fenglin, Luo Bingsong, Zhang Shaojie, You Dongsheng and Chang Junju.
