Soldier Acrobatic Troupe of the Political Department of Guangzhou Military Region

The Soldier Acrobatic Troupe was founded in October l951.

The troupe is well known for its strong national characteristics and army soldiers' style with a sense of modernity. Up to now, 109 of its programs performed by 518 artists have won 152 prizes in different contests for the army and at the national level. Seventeen of its programs won gold prizes at the acrobatic contests in France, UK, Belgium, Monaco, Italy and Sweden including 3 Presidential Prizes of France, 2 Gold Clown Prizes of Monaco, 1 prize the Black pool Cup of the UK and other 13 international gold prizes. The troupe has taken part in the making of 15 documentary and feature films, among which the film Heroes of Acrobatics, produced by the Phoenix Film Studio in the l980s, has been well known both at home and abroad. The troupe has toured 55 countries and regions presenting 115 performances overseas. In 1991, President Jiang Zemin granted the title Model Artists to the performers of the troupe.

The troupe has the following artists like Ning Geng, Lu Huiping, Wang Tianfan, Luo Baoshan, Gao Junsheng, Lin Xiong, Gao Wenxiu, Sun Peng, Cao Linbao and Yang Dong.
