The Palace Museum, founded in 1925, is a museum under the State Bureau of Cultural Relics. Its construction area is 720,OO0 square meters.   

Duties and tasks: To maintain, protect and administer ancient buildings and royal gardens; to catalogue, protect, store and restore relics and collections; to display relics and materials; and to open to domestic and foreign visitors.

Establishment: The Palace Museum includes the Research, Management and Development Exhibition, Protection and Storage, Science and Technology, open Management, Ancient Buildings, and Ancient Building Restoration departments, a library, a publishing house, and the General office.

Major achievements: Since 1978, seven projects of the Palace Museum have won prizes at state, provincial or ministerial levels.
