During the construction of Qinshan Nuclear Power Station, "Quality first, safety first" was strictly observed, which led the successful accomplishment of the important project.On December 15th, 1991, the first test-run of Qinshan Nuclear Power Station was quite a hit. The station was put into commercial operation in 1992.

The success of Qinshan Nuclear Power Station wrote a splendid chapter for peaceful utilization of nuclear energy in China. It made China the 7th country capable of building nuclear power stations by itself in the world.

The formal commercial operation of No. 1 set of power generator of the second phase project in Qinshan Nuclear Power Station indicates that China has already possessed full ability in designing, constructing, managing and operating nuclear power station. It is an indication that China has been up onto a new stage in the domestication of nuclear power equipment and facilities.
