High-strength bulletproof fiber material is
a kind of material as slim as silk, as hard as steel; slimmer than paper but
harder than steel. Clothes made by the material can withhold bullets. The
project was included in China Torch Programs, one of the major programs launched
by the Ministry of Science and Technology. It was executed by Ningbo Dacheng
Chemical Fiber Group. Thus, China became the fourth country to have this technology after Holland, the
United States and Japan.
It can be used not only in aviation, sea
material and sports material, but also in defense industry to make light
bulletproof clothing, radomes, airborne tankers, cash transport vans,
etc.
The light bulletproof shield is laminated
with high performance "UD" unidirectional fabric. It features lightweight and
high specific energy absorption. It is only one eighth of common steel shield in
weight. It is an ideal and necessary protective product for riot policemen. This
product fills the gap in domestic riot police field.
The bulletproof vest is made of super high
molecular weight PE fiber and features lightweight, soft, comfort, outstanding
UV resistant, low moisture sensibility and waterproof. It is an ideal and new
material in bulletproof products as its powerful protection capability and high
specific energy absorption.
The bulletproof helmet is made of super high
molecular weight PE fiber, which is developed jointly with the Space Medical
Engineering Research Institute of PLA General Equipment Department. It features
lightweight, moisture resistant, UV resistant, powerful protection capability
and high energy absorption. Also ricochet damage in a hit on body might be
prevented.
Up till now, high-strength bulletproof fiber
material has applied for three national patents and has won the gold prize of
China's Invention Association Exposition. The technology now ranks among the
world top four and wins international reputation.
