Yu Rizhang (1882-1936), a native of
Hubei Province, was a famous
Christian leader and an activist in China.
He was born into a priest family of
Christian Protestant Episcopal
Church and received good western education. In 1908, he got master's degree in
the United States. After he came
back to China, he took the post
of director of national combined speech department of Chinese Youth
Christianism. In 1917, he became the vice director of the China Continuation
Committee. During 1918 to 1930, he was the general secretary of the National
Association of Chinese Youth Christianism. In 1936, he died in Shanghai.
