Oneflower Kingdonia

Oneflower kingdonia belongs to the Buttercup Family, with the Latin name of Kingdoniauniflora. In the world, it is only distributed over Shaanxi Province, Gansu Province, Sichuan Province, Yunnan Province and other provinces in the southwest of China.

Oneflower kingdonia is a sort of minitype perennial herb, and can attain the height of up to 3 to 10 centimeters. It usually grows in coniferous forests and mixed forests of conifers and broad-leaved trees 2,200-3,900 meters above sea level. It bears forky threadlike rhizomes with many adventitious roots. Its leaves are heart-shaped and 3.5 to 7 centimeters wide, with dentations on its top edge and a pink green bottom. It bears solitary flower whose sepal is petal-shaped. It blossoms annually from May to July, and the fruits ripen in August. The seed, 3 to 3.5 millimeters long, is white, oval and a little bit flat.
