Danxing magnolia is a sort of large
arbor, and can attain the height of up to about 18 meters. It usually grows
in forests in limestone mountainous regions 300-500 meters above sea level.
Danxing magnolia has grey barks, and elliptic or obovate keratinous leaves
without fluffs on either side. It's dioecious, and the male flower is
obovate-shaped, with white and straw yellow tepals. Its fruit is
subsphaeroidal.
