Danxing magnolia

Danxing magnolia belongs to the Magnoliaceae Family, with the Latin name of Kmeria septentrionalis. It is mainly distributed in Guizhou Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and other provinces in the southwest of China.

Danxing magnolia is a sort of large arbor, and can attain the height of up to about 18 meters. It usually grows in forests in limestone mountainous regions 300-500 meters above sea level. Danxing magnolia has grey barks, and elliptic or obovate keratinous leaves without fluffs on either side. It's dioecious, and the male flower is obovate-shaped, with white and straw yellow tepals. Its fruit is subsphaeroidal.
