Hunan Television

Hunan Television (HNTV) was established in 1960 and suspended broadcasting in 1962. It began official broadcasting on October 1, 1970. It has two channels and also rebroadcasts programs from two other television stations. In total, HNTV broadcasts more than 30,000 hours of programs every year.

HNTV-1, or Hunan Satellite Television, has 18 self-developed programs. Among the news programs are Hunan Morning News (Xiaoxiang Chenguang), Noon News (Wujian Xinwen), Hunan News Broadcast (Hunan Xinwen Lianbo), News Watch (Xinwen Guancha), Finance Today (Jinri Caijing), Economy Report (Weishi Jingji Baodao), Weekend Life (Zhoumo Shenghuo), Evening News (Wanjian Xinwen) and Sports News (Tiyu Xinwen).

Education programs include Boys vs. Girls (Nanhai Nvhai) and Hello Hunan (Nihao Hunan). Entertainment programs include Joy Camp (Kuale Da Benying), which is very popular among viewers, and Fashion All (Wanquan Xin Shishang).

HNTV-2, an entertainment channel, mainly broadcasts cultural programs and series plays.

HNTV is capable of developing and live-broadcasting most kinds of programs. It has six studios, including an 800-square-meter one. It adopts digital methods in the early stages of its programming and is now digitizing its equipment. It owns digital special effect and animation systems, nonlinear editing and digital broadcast monitoring systems.
