Guangxi Television

Guangxi Television (GXTV) was established on October 1, 1970. It has two channels, GXTV-1 and GXTV-2, and broadcasts 20.42 hours of self-developed programs each week. It also rebroadcasts programs from other stations.

GXTV-1, transmitted via microwave, covers all parts of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, accessible to a population of 40 million. GXTV-1 programs began to be transmitted via satellite in January 1997.

GXTV-1, a comprehensive channel with strong local characteristics, broadcasts Guangxi News, Guangxi Throughout, Rural Guangxi, Economy Sight, Wisdom, News Background and English News.

GXTV-2, an entertainment channel, focuses on recreation and sports programs. Its major columns include World Cinema and so on.

GXTV mainly uses analog component devices in its programming and adopts digital pickup camera, digital special effect system and nonlinear editing system. Signals are transmitted via optical cables from its broadcast monitoring center to the broadcast transmitting station and satellite uplinking stations. GXTV will build a cable network covering all parts of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
