Guangdong Television

Established in 1959, Guangdong Television (GDTV) has two channels, broadcasting 294 hours of programs each week.

GDTV has established business cooperation with more than 200 television stations in over 50 countries and regions in the world, which provides the TV station with an avenue for worldwide expansion.

GDTV-1, transmitted via both microwave and satellites, provides around-the-clock TV program hookup to most part of China and the Asian-Pacific Region.

GDTV-1 concentrates on news, education, culture, sports, entertainment and consulting services. Its major programs include Society Watch, Guangdong Star TV News, Economy Square and GDTV Sports.

GDTV-2, broadcast in Cantonese, focuses on news, sports, entertainment, health, film and play. Signals of GDTV-2 cover Guangdong and Hainan provinces and part of Guangxi, Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian, Hong Kong and Macao.

GDTV boasts more than 20 studios, including five covering over 400 square meters each. It employs analog component devices in its programming and automatic transmitting technologies in its broadcasting.
