Founded in 1956, China Film Publishing House is the only specialized press for film publications in China. It is sponsored by China Film Association, and administrated by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. In order to promote film theory research and creation practice, and to improve artistic, technical and teaching levels of films, it has published many books on artistic theory, history, technology, playwriting, biography, and strip cartoons of films, and New Year pictures, calendars and audio and video products. It also publishes such periodicals as World Screen and World Cinema. It boasts a professional team of well-trained editors.
