China Youth Daily

China Youth Daily, run by the Central Committee of the China Youth League (CYL), is a nationwide comprehensive daily that carries great weight in China's political and social life. Launched on April 27, 1951 in Beijing, the newspaper stopped publication on August 20, 1966 during the Cultural Revolution and resumed publication on October 7, 1978. Besides Beijing, it has 14 printing spots in other places across the country.

Reporting political, social and economic news, China Youth Daily is a well-received newspaper targeting the young generation in China. Its primary readers are 21 to 48 years old professionals.

Circulated worldwide, the newspaper had a daily circulation of 2 million as of 1988.

China Youth Daily has several special columns such as Learn and Think, which assists young people in in-depth study of theories and policies, Path Breaker, which talks about mental culture, Grassland, which is about literature, Know More, which is about natural science, CYL Branch, Law and Society, Ethnic Minorities, Art World and so on. The Weekend, published on Sundays, is a special that encompasses literature, art, history, geography, calligraphy, sports and so on.
