In the performance season, actors will present traditional operas that are familiar to audiences. To meet the different demands, the organizers of the performances will specially arrange selected passages of traditional operas, highlights from operas and full-length traditional operas for audiences. By then, the Kunqu opera funs not only can enjoy the full-length Kunqu operas such as "The Peony Pavilion," and "The West Chamber," but also can appreciate the highlights from "Nuptial Day," "Fleeing by Night," and "The Tower In Fogs," and the like. On the other hand, the Peking opera funs can enjoy "Yang Shi Lang Visits His Mother," "The Zhaos' orphan," as well as highlights from "Match Made by Scholar Number One," "The Chisang Town," and so forth.

A number of famous artists, including Houshaokui, Yangfengyi, Wangrongrong, Wangping, Kangjing will also appear on the stage..

These performances are supported by the Shanghai Kunqu opera troupe, the Yongjia Kunqu opera troupe, the Suzhou Kunqu Opera Theater of Jiangsu province and the Hunan Kunqu opera troupe. At sponsors' invitation, these four Kunqu opera theaters will each send outstanding young actors to join these performances. They will not only perform in the opening ceremony, but also give a joint performance with the Northern Kunqu Opera Theater.

At the opening ceremony, different genres will present varied and colorful scenes to the audiences.

Lower fare for the performances

Chief organizer and director Yujunjiang said they will try their best to let traditional opera funs have the chance to enter the theaters and appreciate the operas, with prices kept low. Ticket prices will be 30 yuan, 50yuan and 70yuan.
