Huang Yique:Puppet Show Master

By the Spring Festival of the year 1990, millions of people watched the
"monkey show" on TV. The "monkey" and the trainer Huang Yique made a deep
impression and were spread throughout the country. The 63-year- old man had
never imagined the influence of his performances since he began to learn
marionette playing at the age of 13. Huang was a hardworking marionette player
as well as playwright and prop-maker. In his hands the puppets could dance, ride
a bicycle and even play guitar. Due to renovation of the marionette he has made
a great contribution to the traditional Chinese culture. He was also the father
