Jilin Chinese Orchestra

The Jilin Chinese Orchestra was founded in 1978. Since then, the Orchestra created hundreds of folk musical works, dozens of which won prizes at national competitions. The Orchestra performed on a series of important occasions with excellent performers and exceptional programs and won wide praise. Over the last 30 years, the Orchestra gave visiting performances on behalf of China to countries and regions like Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Japan, India and Canada for cultural exchange and communication.

The Orchestra cultivated a number of well-known composers, conductors and performers such as Zhu Guangqing, Zhang Shigong, Zhang Hongyu, the guzheng performer Zhao Dengshan, the banhu performer Zhao Guoliang, the Erhu performer Li Dewu, the Suona performer Li Qiukui and Wang Qingzhong and the percussion instrument performer Yu Yanhe, etc.
