The city of Ordos was paid a visit on August 11 by Vice Minister of Culture Zhao Shaohua, who went to examine preparation work for the 11th Asia Arts Festival. Officials including Vice-Chairman of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Government Liu Xinle, Vice Secretary General of the Regional Government Yang Xi, Deputy General Director of the Cultural Department of the Region Zhao Xinmin, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of Ordos Du Zi, Vice Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of Ordos and Mayor Yun Guangzhong, and Deputy Mayor Bao Chongming joined Zhao’s visit.

The leaders examined a number of venues such as the Center of Round Table Conference involving culture ministers and high-ranking officials in Asia, the Performing Arts Square of Dongsheng District, the Asia Sculpture Arts Theme Park, the Ordos Culture and Art Center, the Ordos Exhibition Center and the venue for the Ordos Nadam Fair, among others.

After the inspection, a meeting was held where Ordos Deputy Mayor Bao Chongming gave a report on the preparation work. Zhao pointed out at the meeting that Ordos has been preparing well for the Festival and the Ministry of Culture has made the right choice in selecting Ordos as the host city. Zhao also stressed preparation work should be conducted strictly to ensure all Festival activities go smoothly.
