A Data Center for Salvage and Protection of Chinese Folk Culture Heritage at Feng Jicai Culture and Art Research Institute，officially opened on the 13th of June at Tianjin University to coincide with the 4th Cultural Heritage Day to be held in China.

The Center is the first of its kind. The first visitors were scholars attending the 3rd Forum for Protecting Intangible Cultural Heritage in China, Japan and South Korea, which also opened on the same day at Tianjin University.

Tianjin University has invested 3,000,000 yuan ($US438,782) on the Center, where a large amount of written material, tens of thousands of pictures, a few hundred hours of recording and hundreds of hours’ of video are stored.
