In the past, Chinese people tend to visit relatives or hold banquet at home during the spring festival. Today, the week-long holiday for Spring Festival has become a golden travel season for them. As the temperature falls, the passion for travel is heating up. The hottest choices are the country's coldest and warmest regions.

Air or train tickets to travel China's northeastern Heilongjiang province are in huge demand. Every day, over 10-thousand people arrive at the airport of the provincial capital, Harbin. Among them, 60% are tourists. More than 90% of the seats are taken on the airplanes fly to Harbin from other major cities.

The price of a standard room in Harbin has reached 700 yuan, which hasn't influenced reservations. Cheaper hostels are proving popular. Those priced at about 200 yuan have all been booked from the first day to the fifth day of the lunar New Year.
