Related story: The Pristine Art Performance of Ewenkis

Aoluguya, a large song and dance drama which makes deer-keeping Tribe’s romantic love stories as its main line and aims at passing down the precious ethnic culture of the Ewenki ethnic group, was put on the stage in Beijing Poly Theater from August 26th to 29th. The forest scenery of the primitive Da Hinggan Mountains was displayed vividly on the stage enabling audience to have a close feeling about Shilu Tribe’s natural life, spirits and souls.

The Primitive Tribal Life

Among all the stage properties such as the mysterious Shaman Dance (a kind of dance performed by wizards of Shaman Religion while offering sacrifices, dispelling diseases and evil), and the conical houses inhabited by hunters of the Ewenki ethnic group, the most eye-catching of all is the forest scenery built of gauze by hand. In order to create better forest scenery for Aoluguya, décor designers have chosen a lot of colored gauze and chiffons as setting materials to make views such as forests and sky. In addition, the bonfire used by the deer-keeping hunters and the supports used by the Ewenki ethnic group to hang hitch pans and hand kettles are also put on the stage.
