"Three Kingdoms" Relics on Display in Beijing

Experts are especially interested in the coffin's tiger head stone pier. A researcher from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Yang Hong, says that the same kind of pier was found in the recently discovered tomb of Cao Cao in Henan province. They were only used in the tombs of people of the highest rank.

Selected relics from the Three Kingdoms are on display at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing.

The exhibition also covers Han Dynasty, the era before the Three Kingdoms, and some exhibits afterwards, up to the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Contemporary art pieces are included to give young viewers a better understanding.

In Japan, visitor numbers for the exhibition topped a million.

In Beijing, the exhibition runs free till mid-March.
