Li Xuejian, Zhang Kaili, Qin Hailu and other big names from the National Theatre company arrived at the launching ceremony for the "Autumn Drama Season". They will lead the seventeen dramas in over 240 performances.
This is an ambitious move by the National Drama Theatre, which is trying to expand the market for stage dramas.
Theatre-goers can expect to see top-notch productions such as "Don Quixote", "Jane Eyre" and "Red Rose and Write Rose". Besides these more serious topics, the season will also include comedies and experimental shows promising a wide selection for audiences.
From this September to next January, these dramas will rotate from stage to stage in over ten theatres throughout the capital city, including Tianqiao Theatre, Haidian Theatre, Poly Theatre, and the National Center for the Performing Arts.
