Director:Yu Feng
Not only a famous conductor but also the artistic director of China National Opera House, Yu Feng is the professor of Central Conservatory of Music, Chair of the Conducting Department, Artistic Director of Shenzhen Orchestra, and Vice President and Secretary General of China Conducting Association. A graduate from the Conducting Department of Central Conservatory of Music, Yu Feng got his Master's degree under the supervision of Professor Xu Xin and Professor Zheng Xiaoying. In 1991, he achieved first prize in both the National Conducting Selection Contest and the International Young Conductors' Competition in Portugal. The local media called him a "Master of China", "Victory of the Orient" and "Talented Conductor." As a famous conductor, he is invited to collaborate with many great orchestras. In China, he has a long-term contract with China Philharmonic Orchestra and led the orchestra to participate in such important performances as the Chinese Art Festival.
China National Opera House
The Central Opera House of China was established in 1952 and is one of the best opera troupes in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Opera House consists of an opera troupe, a glee club, symphonic orchestra and stage art workshop. The opera troupe boasts a strong cast of performing artists, most of whom have won prizes in both international and domestic vocal competitions. The troupe members are top graduates from music academies all over the country and their performances involve both foreign and Chinese operas and vocal works.
For more than 50 years, the opera house has successfully staged many world classics, such as the operas "Camellia," "Madame Butterfly," "Carmen," "Figaro’s Wedding," "Comedian," "Courtier," "Turandot" and "The Vendor and Young Lady." Many new Chinese pieces, such as "Liu Hulan," "the Song of Grassland," "The Cloud with Her Longing for Her Husband," "A Yi Guli," "The 100th Bride" and "Macro Polo" have also been featured by the opera house.
