Huang Tingjian, Master of Pemanship

 Dizhu Ming by Huang Tingjian

Having absorbed the merits of his predecessors, with bold innovation, Huang established his unique writing style. It seems that every word of his running script style writing has a central point, other strokes of character diffusing from it. Such writing style makes his works look more robust and elegant, unlike those rigid ones from the Jin and Tang Dynasty.

Although Huang Tingjian was a successor to the great Chinese calligraphers Zhang Xu and Huai Su, his perfect command of the brush made his writing even more free flowing in style.
