Dizhu Ming, by Huang Tingjian
|
Dizhu Ming, a calligraphy work by Huang Tingjian, one of the four best calligraphers of the Song Dynasty, was written in the Chinese running script style on a 15-meter scroll, which is Huang’s longest existing work.
Huang Tingjian (1045-1105), from Fenning (modern Xiushui in northwest Jiangxi province), was a famous poet, calligrapher and essayist. He grew up in a family of noted scholars and artists, including his mother, Lady Li, a skillful painter and qin player. Huang Tingjian is said to have been particularly filial toward her.
