When soldier Yang Lang paid a visit home in 1972, he took a photo with his mother in front of the Tian’anmen Tower. In 2009, now vice-president of the SEEC Media Group Ltd, a well-known media company listed in Hongkong, Yang stood with his mother before the Tian’anmen Tower again.
On Sept 28, 1980, seventeen-year-old Liu Zengrong, who had been admitted to Renmin University from his hometown of Zhongdu town, Shanghang county, Long Yan city, Fujian province, traveled to Beijing for the first time and had a picture taken in front of the Tian’anmen Tower as a souvenir. On March 31, 2009, Liu, now a photojournalist for the newspaper of Capital University of Economics and Business, stood before Tian’anmen Tower again and said, "It seems that I recaptured the old days and time went back to the moment of twenty-nine years ago."
In 1982, three-year-old Wang Tingting posed for the camera at Tian’anmen Square. In 2009, thirty-year-old Wang Tingting, now the owner of an online shop adopted the same pose as the one she struck in 1982 at Tian’anmen Square.
